My furthest trip from home (and this is pulling from way back in my memory for details!) was to Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. It was a reward trip for being on the General Motors Business Accounting Manager’s Council. This had to have been about 20 plus years ago, so the exact specifics of the trip are foggy, but I do remember the highlights.
These rewards trips were amazing. Everything but souvenirs was paid for. We just had to relax and enjoy. The best part of this trip was the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
Anyone who knows me, knows I am petrified of heights. I walked up to this bridge and I remember thinking, Oh My Lord can I do this?? I told myself that I could do anything I put my mind to and this was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience. I HAD to do it – and I did. The pictures I got from up there looking down into the gorge were amazing. Looking out at God’s creation of the beauty of nature was worth swallowing my phobia and just doing it. I did not regret it but I would have regretted not doing it, that’s for sure.
