A Year of Positive (and yes, crazy) Changes

Daily writing prompt
What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

So, yeah, I have been a bit MIA lately. As some of you know, I moved over 800 miles back to New England about a month ago after a brief, 2-year stint in North Carolina. We are now in Manchester, New Hampshire. Before we moved to NC, we lived in Massachusetts. We have had a camper in Laconia, NH for over 8 years. Our dream had always been to move to NH. Now we are here, and it’s great! Even with the snow storm last week and the bitter cold, we love being in NH.

Our home – we are the second floor of this two-story house

I also started a new job that is about a 45-minute drive on a good day. With the snow and ice, it can be an hour to an hour and a half. I don’t mind the lenght as I love listening to audio books, but I hate the anxiety that goes with this drive. My anxiety hasn’t been doing too great getting used to the winter driving again. It’s been almost 3 years with no winter driving, so it has been a bit of an adjustment. Each day gets better though.

The snow is beautiful. I love seeing everything covered in white.

My new job is a city accountant position and I love it so far. It’s pretty different from my normal type of accounting, but I am enjoying the ins and outs of municipal accounting and the people I work with are great.

Being back in NH has been amazing. We love everything about it – even the annoying bits like living in a city right now so we have to street park and in a snow emergency we’re squeezing 4 cars into a 2-car driveway LOL. It’s okay though. We are in the Live Free or Die state and couldn’t be happier!!
