Is it just me, or are there way more people living with a sense of entitlement these days? I encounter far too many people who think they are owed everything they want without ever having to work for it.
I think it stems from too many parents giving kids everything they want growing up without making them work for it. I didn’t get where I am today without working my ass off every step of the way – even after major setbacks along the way. Never once did it occur to me that I should just get what I want without putting in the effort.
Along with this (or perhaps because of this) there is a major lack of work ethic in the younger generation. Please don’t get me wrong, I am aware this is a generalization and not ALL of the younger generation are this way, but it is definitely more prevalent these days. (Wow, now I feel old making statements like this!)
I truly wish for the world that we all learn to earn what we want and not just expect it. If you don’t go out and work for it yourself, it will never just fall in your lap.
