How perfect it is that this prompt showed up today! It is our first winter back up north in 2 years and I have been STRUGGLING! My fibromyalgia has been absolutely terrible, but I have still gone to work every day and taken care of my house. Sometimes just breathing seems to take too much effort, but I push through and do the things I need to do every day.

I wanted to be lazy today. It IS Sunday after all, so it’s okay right? Well, sure it is. But is that going to make my body feel better? No, it’s not. Hell, I even “got over myself” yesterday and made it to the gym for an hour.
All that being said, my own strategy for getting past negative thoughts is to utilize the power of positive thinking. I had pretty much mastered it before we moved back from North Carolina. I was listening to motivational podcasts, walking every day, and making better food choices. Now, I am in a place where I can finally start getting back on track.
How I do it is when a negative thought enters my head, I immediately think “NO!” and change it into positive thoughts. Listening to podcasts everyday also helps. It keeps my head in a good place.
So, today we went on a mile-long walk in a park near our home. Things have finally melted enough for us to do this. I wanted to just be like – nahhhh – I’ll just be lazy today. But I didn’t. I went for the walk. I used positive thinking to keep myself for making piss-poor excuses and just did it. And it was great.
