“NO” isn’t a bad word…

Daily writing prompt
How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

As an innate people pleaser and empath, I don’t often say no. I tend to put everyone else’s needs and wants ahead of my own. I would say I am somewhat better than I was when I was younger. My chronic illness flares more often as I’ve gotten older. I also want to take better care my mental health.

I know that saying “no” is NOT a bad thing, yet I almost always feel guilty if I do. I don’t really know why that is-I wish I did so I could conquer it. We all need to remind ourselves that “NO” is not a bad word and is in fact a word of empowerment.

One response to ““NO” isn’t a bad word…”

  1. I completely agree! As someone who is a recovering people-pleaser who never said ‘no’, I totally get it. It’s hard to say but so worth it when you finally do!
